With very sad heavy hearts we had to say good-bye to Bunny today (6/10/10).
She was really starting to show the pain of the nerves being pressed & pinched as her not properly formed pelvis was growing. She had no sacrum & we had hoped that the growth would form straight, but it hadn't - instead it was pressing her hips out & pinching nerves to cause extreme pain & lack of any urinary or bowel control. We could not let her suffer. Dr. Pressly, Megan, & Kari did everything they could but realized that she would always have a lot of pain so they & Mary were with her today as she went to Rainbow Bridge. It is amazingly sad how high an animals pain tolerance is.
But now Bunny, sweet Bunny, is up there smiling with that silly lil underbite happy & painfree! RIP dear sweet Bunny!
Thank you to all that offered thoughts & prayers & donations. Any further donations in her memory will go to any bills she still has & to the next one we can do everything we can for! Thanks to all the generous souls that donate! Without you we couldn't keep doing this! Thank you ALL!!
Bunny's last picture...look at that smile!! She gave more than anyone can ever explain!!
This is Bunny, aka Bunny Hop, was Suzie for a day, but Bunny is WAY more suiting!
She was at Lancaster Animal Control the other day as an injured found pup...well, injured gets our attention! We happened to be there, so grateful too! As injured pets can't be left to suffer there nor is there ANY vet care, so injured are euthanized. Well, not this lil girl! We are a rescue, we don't just take the cute & fuzzies, we take the ones that need us! She needs us! She hops because her hips aren't fused with her spine & pelvis, where her tail looks like it should be is only an anus that doesn't have full control...sigh...
Well, we took her to Dr. Pressly! He, Megan, & Kari are THE BEST!!!!
X-rays are very strange, looks like no sacrum present but some growth so we are going to wait a month & re x-ray to check progress then make surgery decisions. Right now we need donations for her bills & a loving foster home! She is a very very sweet lil 5-6lbs. terrier/schnauzer mix pup, she does require diapers as she can't really control either way too well right now :(.
Donations can be made via donation button above, mailing to us at PO Box 1825 Lancaster, SC 29721 :)!!
