See pets for adoption page - note the fosters that have been in care for extended stay may have reduced adoption prices, those that only required basic vetting & alter. What's included with our adoptions?
THEN...when you adopt, we offer: 30 days free pet health insurance, a cd from Cesar Millan, free microchip registration, and NOW a free bottle of Kids N Pets brand stain & odor remover!! Ask for your rebate coupon at time of adoption!!
Our "normal" adoption fee is $200, which, as you see, includes a lot! Yes, spay/neuter is included, if old enough we'll have it done already, if not, we'll set it up with you to get the pet done, when old enough, at our vet :)! At times we must ask higher adoption fees as we do take in some pets that other rescues would never touch. Some with vet bills well over $300 to start. We do at times ask for higher adoption fees with some pets that we have much more in their care, but, we do our best to keep adoption fees as low as possible. We WELCOME additional donations above our adoption fees. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit charity made up of all volunteers & foster homes, we count on donations to continue doing all we do! PLEASE - do to limited amount of foster homes at this time we cannot take in many pets, no strays ever, sorry. We pull from the local shelter all we can when their time is up. WE NEED MORE FOSTER HOMES! Please consider helping just one!! See our documents page for more information.
If you are missing a pets or need to report animal abuse or neglect please call the Lancaster Animal Control at 803-286-8103.
If you cannot hold onto the pet & cannot find a new home or rescue - you must bring the pet to the LAC - just bare in mind that 98% of the cats/kittens do not get out alive & 83% or more of the dogs/puppies do not get out alive. Owner surrenders are first to 'go' when they run out of room, which is all too often, sadly.
HSLSC can send email blasts out if you email us the pets info & pictures, also you may join us on Facebook & post pets there! See link above.

The Humane Society of Lancaster, SC (HSLSC) is just caring individuals that can't sit by and let the poor lost souls be forgotten. We want to wake up & shake up Lancaster County, SC to start really caring about the pets here. We want owners to be held accountable for the abused, forgotten, & neglected pets here!
We assist our local shelter (LAC) as much as we can! We assist 501(c)3 rescues when they want to pull from Lancaster County Animal Control. We also provide some transportation for those that are a distance away, or first leg of a transport. We do all we can to save as many as we can!
The Humane Society of Lancaster, SC (HSLSC) is SC State registered as NONPROFIT and a Federal 501c3 NON PROFIT! Our hotline is (803)285-5683 easy to remember this way: 803-285-LOVE !!!!
